Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I register for a program?

    There are open Registration periods throughout the year - with each having a deadline. Registration is completed online through our website. Simply select the desired program and complete the required information. 

  • Do I need experience?

    No, we welcome players of all levels of experience and they will learn the game from other players, coaches and staff. This applies even to non-playing duties (e.g. field maintenance; team management etc).

  • How often do you practice?

    Practice is once a week. Each League (Red, White, Blue) hold their own practices. Red and White practice on Sunday mornings - and Blue practices on Friday mornings. Times vary depending on the time of year and the heat.

  • What is included in the membership fee?

    Membership fees are annual. They typically cover league expenses (balls; field maintenance; scorebooks; etc). 

  • What is your refund or cancellation policy?

    Typically, refunds are readily given. It is very rare for someone to request a refund. 

  • How can I contact the organization with questions?

    You can contact us through the email address or contact form listed on our website. Our team will respond as quickly as possible.

  • What equipment is required?

    Balls, uniforms and hats are provided by the Club. A glove is required. It is helpful to have a good pair of cleats or trail shoes. An important decision is a Bat. The Grand Softball club has adopted ASA/USA certified softball bats and balls. It is strongly recommended that before buying a bat, that you consult with a Board Member or a knowledgeable player.

  • Are volunteers or coaches needed?

    Our Club completely relies on volunteers - coaches; commissioners; field operations; administration. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can indicate your interest during registration or contact us directly.

  • How will I receive updates and announcements?

    All updates are sent via email and posted on the website. Additional communications and updates will also come via the Club App. Please ensure your contact information is accurate so you don’t miss important communications.

  • Are games played on holidays?

    Yes. Games are played on holidays - with the exception of Thanksgiving; Christmas and New Years.

  • How are managers trained?

    Typically, managers come from the playing ranks - but they can also be non-playing members. Experience can be obtained by playing for - or coaching with - another experienced manager.

  • What is the organization's code of conduct?

    All Club Members are expected to follow our code of conduct to ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone. All players need to recertify in our Code of Conduct for each program session.
